The Charo

A record player stand for people who actually listen to vinyl.

 

The Charo is our most popular piece and it’s easy to see why. Designed from the ground up for vinyl lovers, it gives your turntable a proper home with a dedicated amp shelf on top and angled dividers below that let you flip through your records the way they’re meant to be browsed.

 

Every Charo is handmade in our Warburton workshop from solid Australian hardwood. No chipboard, no veneer, no flat-pack compromises. Just real timber, traditional joinery, and a piece of furniture that’ll outlast the turntable sitting on it.

We’ve built many versions for customers across the country (yes, we ship to your door), and each one is a little different. The two-tier design with an open amp bay on top and angled vinyl dividers below keeps everything you need in arm’s reach. The turned timber legs and clean mid-century lines mean it looks as good in a modern apartment as it does in a period home.

Available in Tasmanian Oak (lighter, golden tone) or Blackwood (rich, darker grain with figure). Both are Australian hardwoods sourced locally. We can also work with reclaimed timber if you’ve got something special in mind.

 

Need it wider for a bigger collection? Want a drawer instead of the amp shelf? Different timber? We make every Charo to order, so customisation is the whole point. Just tell us what you’re after.

 

The Charo starts from $1,800 for Tas Oak, with Blackwood and custom sizes quoted individually. Typical build time is 3-4 weeks. Melbourne delivery included.

Dimensions

This turntable stand or cabinet is available in various dimensions. Standard dimensions displayed:

  • 415mm deep x 490mm wide x 855mm high
  • TOP BOX: 415mm deep x 455mm wide x 225mm high
  • BOTTOM BOX: 415mm deep x 455mm wide x 395mm high

The bottom module contains vertical dividers to store records. These dividers can be added to the top module for storage of 45rpms.
